Claw back your data from Big Tech with Cyd

Tech platforms can't be trusted. It's time to regain control of your data. Cyd (formerly Semiphemeral) isn't ready yet, but it's coming soon.

Cyd - Claw back your data from Big Tech

How Cyd Works

Cyd is a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux that can help you save and delete your data from X (with other platforms coming soon). To start, log in to your X account inside of Cyd, give Cyd instructions on what you want it to do, and then Cyd takes care of the rest.

Cyd can delete your tweets, likes, and direct messages – except for what you want to keep. It works by scrolling through X's website and clicking buttons for you. Everything that Cyd does you could do yourself with nothing more than a web browser and an infinite amount of time.

Cyd saves a local backup of your data. Before deleting anything, Cyd builds a local, browsable database of all of your X data, complete with HTML snapshots of your tweets. It does not require downloading an archive of your data from X.

You can delete everything, or keep what went viral. For example, you can tell Cyd to delete tweets older than 30 days unless they got at least 20 likes or retweets... Or, you can just delete everything. The choice is yours.

Cyd runs directly on your computer, not on our servers. We don’t have access to your X account, or to any of the data in it.
